Youth in Worship

We welcome our youth to worship with us!  We believe that when children participate in all aspects of worship, it helps them to develop their faith.  Children are invited to participate in communion or to receive a blessing during communion, as their parent’s so choose. Children's bulletins and crayons are available in the Narthex (that’s the lobby area of our church).

Children stay with their parents for the beginning of most worship services. They are invited to come forward to the altar steps for the Youth Message. After the Youth Message, children from age four through grade seven proceed to their Church School classrooms. See the Church School page for more information about our children's educational programs, including those for Confirmation and High School students.

On Family Communion Sundays, children attend class first and come to worship with their teachers in time for the sacrament.

For many years, we have provided a way for our youth to give some of what they have for causes that are important to them and to our church. We have a Giving Jar on the altar steps for children (and adults) who wish to make a donation. This benefits a benevolence chosen by our children, as part of our Church School's mission project.
